HSTAC is registered with the MTCU to sponsor apprentices in the following priority trades defined in the "Apprenticeship and Certification Act 1998" (ACA).

The ACA does not apply to a restricted or construction trades to which the Trades Qualification and Apprenticeship Act (TQAA) applies. This is an important distinction.
